Rose Marie Riley recently took the new HWBKA observation hive into her schools.
The brand new observation hive which belongs to the HWBK, was a real hit with the children at Blackboys and Framfield Primary Schools.
The reception class children were very excited and asked lots of interesting questions, as they stood for ages totally transfixed by the sight of the bees moving across the frames. They searched for the Queen and watched as ‘baby’ bees hatched out before their eyes.
The children also enjoyed trying on a bee suit, examining wax products and of course tasting the honey.
